Touring Newport

September 8-13, for six days we have enjoyed Newport, especially connecting with our friends Judy and Mike Landers who I served with in the Navy. We have been the ultimate tourists visiting mansions, classic boat restorations, and most of the shops in town. Above is a picture of Carol and Judy in the garden of the Elms Mansion.

Newport is a great town. The weather has been sunny and warm, finally a touch of summer. We’re looking forward to the Newport International Boat Show. We moved the boat today in preparation for the show which starts on Thursday, September 16th. Tomorrow we'll move off the boat and stay at an Inn. It's going to be strange leaving our floating home and staying on land. The show will be run until Sunday, September 19th. After the show we will head for home - assuming Hurricane Ivan has passed on and the weather is good.
